The founder and CTO of Optanom.ai, Dr. Sasha Gutfraind, is a senior computational scientist. Before founding Optanom.ai he was senior research scientist at Amazon where he worked with the US government and organizations around the world on AI and risk. He holds a PhD from Cornell University in counter-terrorism and was previously affiliated with Los Alamos National Lab and the FDA. He sits on the faculties of University of Illinois and Loyola University Chicago and co-founded a startup in solving hurricane risk. He has 20 years of experience in AI/ML and software development with specialty in risk, resilience, cybersecurity, counter-terrorism and insurance.
